Founded in 1982 by members of the Armoyan family, Armco Capital Inc. has grown from a small business run almost entirely by two brothers into a diversified and dynamic group of companies. Recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for three consecutive years, Armco is among the largest organizations of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
Armco’s Community Development division currently holds one of the largest market shares in Atlantic Canada and has developed more than 10,000 home sites in over 35 subdivisions during the last 30 years. Armco targets an average of 40% of the Halifax residential market share.
Armco, traditionally known as a residential real estate developer over the years has expanded into Commercial and Industrial development and property management.
Armco also has land holdings in Quebec and through a strategic partnership is currently is in the process of developing a nine acre site in LaSalle which will yield 1,100 units in 12 multi-family buildings and a 37 acre residential site in Mont Tremblant-Saint Jovite.
In addition to Halifax and Quebec, Armco, Affiliated Companies, and partnerships own properties in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.
Armco, along with its affiliated companies Scotia Learning Centres and Brunswick Learning Centres have been the successful proponent in a number of Public-Private Partnerships (“P3”) including 16 schools in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick encompassing approximately 1.3 million square feet of institutional space. In addition to the P3 schools, Armco owns and operates numerous other commercial buildings and office towers in Atlantic Canada and Quebec, including the Department of National Defence Building in Bayer’s Lake, Willowtree Tower and more. In total Armco owns, operates and maintains approximately three million square feet of commercial, institutional, and industrial space.
Armco’s long term plan is to continue to diversify and expand its business geographically as well over the various asset classes.
