Director Of Asset Management

Job description

The Director of Asset Management is responsible for maximizing the value of our real estate assets through strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational oversight. They will lead the property management team and oversee the work and performance of third-party management companies.

Key responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategic asset management plans to optimize the performance of the company’s real estate portfolio.
  • Conduct regular property evaluations, market analysis, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for value enhancement and risk mitigation.
  • Works with the Investment team on property acquisitions, dispositions and development projects.
  • Manage financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting processes to evaluate property performance and support investment decisions.
  • Monitor key financial metrics to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and revenue enhancement strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Implement lease administration protocols to enforce lease terms, resolve disputes, minimize vacancies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal on issues related to portfolio. May Represent the owner in tenant relations matters.
  • Review property assessment and tax bills and initiate appeals when needed.
  • Oversee property operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects to enhance asset value and tenant satisfaction.
  • Oversee third-party management company.
  • Provide support and guidance to the broader organization to ensure consistency and alignment in all aspects of asset management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and performance analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPM, FRM or RPA Designation an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in real estate asset management, with a focus on commercial and residential properties.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing real estate portfolios and driving financial performance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.
